FAQ
About our small group Pilates classes.
What if I am brand new to Pilates? Can I still join?
YES! Absolutely, our Develop classes are the place to start so you get the best out of classes from day 1.
Can I do classes when I’m pregnant?
Yes absolutely! All group classes are available to you until 16 weeks, after that our Pro & Postnatal classes are the best place to continue Pilates.
I’ve just had a baby, when can I start Pilates?
It’s always best to seek medical advice, as every persons birth experience and recovery will be different. We suggest chatting with your Pelvic health specialist, or, GP. If they’re happy for you to return to group classes, our Pre & Postnatal are the place to return to.
How do I know if group classes are okay for me to attend?
If you’re of general good health with no known medical conditions, have not had surgery or seriously injured within the last 12 months, then group classes are likely okay. If you’re unsure though, or want to share something with us, give us a call we’re here to help.
I’ve been to other studios and it’s more like a fitness class. They move so quickly, and the music is loud, is your studio like this?
Not at all. We do play music, but in the background, and the focus is 100% on your experience and body whilst in class. Our Instructors want to get to know you, your needs and your body so they can offer constant support throughout classes. We’re all about hands on support, form and slow and controlled movement.
I’m quite nervous as I won’t know anyone, any tips to help me get over that?
We understand, and we hear this a lot. It is daunting taking that first step. We often suggest we can meet first so you have a friendly face, and familiarity with the setting before your first class. We’ll introduce you to regulars in class too, so you instantly feel more at ease and involved. You can also always bring a friend or family member for additional confidence too.
How often should I attend?
This depends on what your goals are and what other movements you might do such as swimming, running etc. Ideally a minimum of 2 times weekly will help you really see results, but if you're looking for maximum impact then 3+ per week is ideal.
